Branlows mini piling contractors capital investment in new mini piling and underpinning  equipment continues unabated.  In 1999 alone, nearly a third of a million pounds has been invested in new equipment, including a new range of driven rigs and another Klemm drilling rig, as well as more substantial transportation to meet the increasing needs on projects nationwide.  The result of such investment will increase our response time and performance in the driven, drilled and augered market place.

Branlows specialise in providing solutions to foundation problems : drilling, grouting and ground anchors.  Our expertise helps overcome difficult operational conditions including restricted access, limited headroom, environmental restrictions and difficult ground.  Over the years, we have been involved with many national and international companies in providing expertise and practical knowledge.

The KR 500 rig has been designed for drilling in,  the most difficult and restricted access piling conditions" inside existing buildings with  limited headroom.  Due to a maximum mast length of just 1.80 m, the rig can even access buildings dating back to the middle ages where the fabric of the building can still be preserved.  The KR 500 is primarily used for Jet grouting (simplex, duplex and triplex system).  The extremely compact construction of the KH 3 rotary drive enables drill rods of 500 mm effective length to be used even with the triplex system.

The newly designed kinematic system, including a manually actuated mast swing of 45° to either side, enable mini piling and drilling operations to be carried out with minimum space requirements.  Stability of the rig is guaranteed for any mini piling or drilling positions by a pivot mounted counter weight.  Hydraulic power is supplied to the base machine by a separate power pack (electric motor, 37 kW) and two hydraulic circuits. A 25 m long supply line between drill rig and hydraulic power pack provides a high degree of flexibility.
